The lighting of the town cliff, called Bergið, is celebrated annualy the first weekend of September, with a town festival, The Night of Lights. Bergid can be enjoyed all year round; During summer, it's a relaxing hike and during winter it's lights frame the Keflavik cove in a stunning manner.
Our hotel manager, Steinþór Jónsson, is the artist behind the lighting on the cliff and the founder of the festival The Night of Lights.
Bergid is lit up during the long winter nights and is positioned right above the small bout harbour in down-town Keflavik. It is a beautiful sighting and a good reason why visitors often take a stroll down-town.
On top of the Bergid you can often see the northern lights in the cold winter nights. It is an ideal place to go see and photograph.Explore Reykjanes
